Roma Inclusion Special Grant Competition
09-04-2015 - Press release

To mark the International Roma Day, the U.S. Embassy in Prague is pleased to announce a special competition to provide support for Roma inclusion in the Czech Republic.

The Embassy is soliciting proposals with outstanding merit that support the U.S. Government’s goals of promoting education, activism, citizenship, and inclusion. Preference will be given to individuals and institutions with a proven track record of executing superior programs. Grant proposals should range from $2,000 to $10,000 (ca. CZK 50,000 to CZK 250,000). Proposals for this competition must be received by April 30, 2015, before 9AM local time.

U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Andrew Schapiro: “This special call is a symbol of the support we have for our partners in the Romani community. We believe in the ideal of inclusion and a celebration of the different cultures and backgrounds that make up the Czech Republic. As Americans we understand the challenges and obstacles to a truly open and inclusive society, and we honor those working to make a positive difference."

Full information on the application process can be found on the U.S. Embassy webpage under the Education and Culture Section here.
